Test post: building my self-hosted homelab
This is a test post for the new journal.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been turning a small Synology NAS into the center of my homelab. Everything stays private on my own Tailscale network, so I can reach it from my phone or laptop without opening anything to the internet.
The NAS runs Forgejo as my own git server. My websites live there, and pushing to the main branch deploys them automatically. The open-source ones mirror out to GitHub, which is how this site gets published.
For my phone, I wrap my self-hosted services as small Android apps and serve them from a private F-Droid repo, so updates show up like any other app.
Next up: writing these entries from my phone and seeing them land here with a single commit.
